Finding Your Voice —
In More Ways Than One
For over 30 years, I've had the privilege of helping people find their voice — literally. As a voice teacher and professional opera singer, I've watched shy singers discover a sound they didn't know they had in them, watched their confidence rise as they learned to trust what came out of them.
What I've come to realize is that this work was never really just about singing. It was about helping people find their voice — the one buried under years of doubt, fear, or other people's expectations. Now, as a counsellor, I get to do that same work at an even deeper level: helping people find their inner voice. The one that knows what it needs. The one that's been waiting to be heard.
My Own Journey
I understand this work from the inside. I've walked through separation and divorce. I’ve spent many years as a single parent, rebuilding a life and an identity I hadn't planned on. I know what it's like to feel like the ground has shifted under you, and to wonder if you'll ever feel steady — or like yourself — again. I’ve spent years overcome by anxiety and overwhelm, often waking up shaking, just facing a normal day.
What helped me most wasn't just time. It was nervous-system-based tools, and counsellors who were kind, patient, and unafraid to sit with me in the hard parts. It was learning to see my emotions as teachers and to take my power back in writing a new story. That experience has shaped everything about how I now show up for my own clients.
Meet My Dog Rosie

Rosie is a 7-year-old gentle dachshund terrier who loves to greet visitors and make new friends.
Little Rosie is affectionate and enjoys sitting beside you or curling up on her blanket. She is very polite and never licks.
If you rub her back or scratch her tummy, she will adopt you as her new favourite person.
